Who We Are

A Calgary-Based Mandate Firm, Built on Standard Trade Practice

Northwind Petroleums Limited Partnership is an Alberta-incorporated mandate and trade representation firm headquartered in Calgary. We act on behalf of authorized principals to introduce verified petroleum and energy commodities to qualified, pre-vetted buyers — managing the commercial, documentary, and compliance work in between.

Our approach favours the slower, verifiable path over shortcuts: mutual NDAs before pricing is shared, benchmark-linked terms, and documentation aligned with ICC Incoterms and UCP 600 practice for letters of credit.

What We Do

Mandate & Trade Representation Services

From initial introduction through to documentation and delivery coordination, we manage the representation work that sits between refiners and qualified buyers.

01

Mandate Representation

Authorized representation of refiners and principals in commercial discussions with qualified buyers, under a clearly scoped letter of authorization.

02

Buyer Qualification & KYC

Verification of buyer corporate standing, banking capability, and intent before any pricing or product-specific information is shared.

03

Trade Documentation

Coordination of standard ICC/UCP 600-aligned documentation — SPA drafting support, certificates of origin, inspection reports, and LC terms.

04

Logistics & Inspection Coordination

Coordination with independent inspection bodies (SGS, Intertek, Bureau Veritas) and shipping/freight parties through standard charter practice.

05

Compliance & AML Oversight

Transaction structuring consistent with ICC rules, anti-money-laundering practice, and standard banking instrument procedure.

Ongoing commercial liaison between principal and buyer through contract negotiation, amendment, and contract-period roll & extension.

Commodities

Refined Products, Crude & Petrochemical Categories

We represent a range of refined petroleum products and related commodities on behalf of authorized principals — jet and aviation fuels, diesel and gasoil grades, LNG/LPG, bitumen, and petrochemical feedstocks.

Specific availability, grade, and pricing are shared only with qualified, NDA-bound buyers — consistent with standard industry practice and never published as an open offer.

How We Work

A Standard, Verifiable Transaction Path

Every engagement follows the same sequence — confidentiality before specifics, verification before commitment, and documentation through recognized banking and inspection channels.

01

Mutual NDA

A confidentiality agreement is executed before any product, pricing, or principal-specific information is shared.

02

Buyer Verification

Corporate registration, banking reference, and intent are verified before indicative terms are issued.

03

Indicative Terms & SPA

Benchmark-linked indicative pricing is shared, followed by a negotiated Sale & Purchase Agreement.

04

Documentation & Delivery

Standard LC/UCP 600 banking instruments, independent inspection, and shipping documentation through to delivery.

Compliance First

Every Engagement Begins With Verification, Not a Price Sheet

We do not publish open pricing or broadcast commodity offers. Qualified buyers and principals are invited to request information directly — subject to NDA and standard KYC review.
