01

Mandate Representation

Acting under a clearly scoped, dated Letter of Authorization, Northwind represents the commercial interests of refining principals in discussions with prospective buyers. Our mandate authority is limited to non-binding commercial introduction and negotiation support — we do not issue invoices or receive payment on behalf of any principal.

02

Buyer Qualification & KYC

Before any product or pricing detail is shared, prospective buyers complete a know-your-customer review: corporate registration documents, a banking reference, and a signed mutual NDA. This protects both the principal and the buyer, and screens out parties who are not genuinely positioned to transact.

03

Indicative Terms & Negotiation

Qualified buyers receive indicative terms referenced to public benchmark pricing (e.g., Platts, Argus, ICE) for the specific grade and volume under discussion — never a flat, broadcast price list. Northwind facilitates negotiation toward a Sale & Purchase Agreement (SPA) between principal and buyer.

04

Trade Documentation

Northwind coordinates preparation of standard trade documentation — Certificate of Origin, Commercial Invoice, Bill of Lading, and Letter of Credit terms consistent with ICC Incoterms and UCP 600 — ensuring both parties are working from recognized, bankable instruments.

05

Independent Inspection Coordination

We liaise with independent inspection authorities — SGS, Intertek, or Bureau Veritas — to arrange quantity and quality (Q&Q) verification at load and discharge ports, giving both sides a neutral, third-party record.

06

Logistics & Freight Liaison

Coordination with shipping and chartering parties under standard Charter Party Agreement practice, aligned with the agreed Incoterm (FOB/CIF) and delivery schedule.

07

Compliance & AML Oversight

Every transaction Northwind touches is structured to remain consistent with anti-money-laundering practice and ICC rules — payment moves bank-to-bank against documents, and Northwind never collects, holds, or directs buyer funds.

08

Ongoing Commercial Liaison

For term/contract relationships, Northwind remains the point of commercial contact through contract renewal, roll-and-extension, and schedule amendments.
